300 Panda Mascot Sculptures for CIIE
YAVIS produced 300 panda mascot sculptures for a project associated with the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai. The production scope centered on translating the approved character design into a repeated series of physical display pieces.

Character Form & Color Reference
For the 300-unit panda project, consistency of form and color was a central production requirement. The character’s proportions, facial expression, pose and color placement needed to remain consistent across the series.
The mascot’s defining features include its black-and-white body, blue-and-yellow scarf, green clover and circular base.
Surface Preparation Before Painting
Surface preparation helps preserve the mascot’s rounded form and recognizable expression before paint is applied. Areas around the eyes, muzzle, ears and scarf require attention so that refinement does not soften the character’s defining details.
Sanding and surface refinement help prepare repeated character forms for finishing.
Color Separation & Finish Consistency
Color consistency was another key requirement for the 300-unit run. The panda’s contrasting body colors and bright accessories needed to retain a coherent appearance across the series.
Masking and controlled paint application help define adjacent color areas and protect surfaces during finishing.
Packing & Transport Protection
Protecting the sculptures during packing and transport was a further priority for this project. For repeated mascot pieces, packing needs to address both visible surface protection and stability during handling and movement.
The character’s projecting features, finished surfaces and base configuration are important considerations when planning protection.
